This year's x'mas, I made stained glass cookies for my friends. The cookies are made from a basic cookie dough with the centers cut out and filled with crushed hard candy and baked. If you don't want to make a cookie dough, you can just use store bought. As for the candy, I bought Life savers but i did not realize they were the sour kind. You can also try Jolly Ranchers. Just make sure that they are one color so that the stained glass will turn out clear. You can also experiment sprinkling different colors into patterns. When you're done decorating the cookies on the cookie sheet, poke a hole in the cookie dough for the ribbon later! Another tip is to make sure that there are no candy bits on the cookie dough to avoid staining the cookies. Make sure the cookies are completely cooled before lifting. Give it a go! The cookies look amazing and are fun to eat, best of all, they are simple to make!
